Welcome to our British GT Motorsport photography workshop with Dan Bathie. This is one of our flagship Motorsport workshops for 2024 and if you are joining us for this weekend, you can expect the full VIP luxury treatment. You will not have to worry about any of the logistics all weekend as we have you covered from start to finish, allowing you to completely focus on the photography.

We will be attending the final round of the 2024 British GT Championship at the iconic Brands Hatch circuit. Brands Hatch is a natural amphitheatre offering unrivalled views of the action from various vantage points and is known as ‘Britain's best-loved motor racing circuit’ (although we think they are all pretty great!).

With trackside access increasingly more restricted in recent years, learning how to shoot from behind the fence as a spectator is more important than ever. Mastering this is crucial to improving your motorsport photography. If you can shoot stylish & eye catching images from behind the fence then you are well on your way as a motorsport photographer. Throughout this weekend our photography tutor Dan Bathie will show you how to maximise this and how to use it to your advantage.

  • As we approach the end of the Motorsport calendar, where better to get your Motorsport fix to see you through the winter months. This final British GT weekend provides us with the perfect setting for learning, practising and honing those crucial motorsport photography skills. On top of all that, you can also choose to experience the full VIP hospitality experience throughout the weekend.

Throughout the weekend our photography tutor, Dan Bathie will help you get to grips with some of the most challenging aspects and techniques required to photograph the fast moving world of Motorsport.

These will include elements such as panning shots / motion blur, how to achieve fantastic images from the spectator areas, plus how to capture those more detailed, intricate paddock shots. We will take you to the very best vantage points across the circuit and guide you through the process of shooting Motorsport in order to help further your own photography journey.

Another additional opportunity for photographers attending our British GT photography workshop is through our partnership with The Pit Stop magazine. You will get your images published in an exclusive feature article about this photography workshop. Readers of The Pit Stop magazine include McLaren CEO Zak Brown - so don’t miss the opportunity to get your images seen by some of the most influential people in the world of motorsport!

  • The Full Weekend VIP hospitality packages includes:

Access to the SRO Drivers Lounge on Saturday. This is an exclusive area in the SRO Club for drivers, teams, friends and family to relax on our qualifying days .

    Champagne breakfast (Sunday).

    Lunch buffet on both days.

    Alcoholic drinks.

    Afternoon tea, biscuits and cakes.

    Pit lane walk.

Live streams from across the circuit.

And perhaps the most exciting part of all - experience the cars up close and personal as we take you out on track before the race begins for a grid walk.

In short: the ultimate all-access for any petrol head!

  • Dan Bathie is an award winning photographer with over 14 years of experience working in motorsport.

Dan has won multiple awards, including Motorsport UK Young Motorsport Photographer of the Year 2016 along with Motorsport Photographer of the Year 2016 & 2021.

Dan has worked as a photographer covering multiple formats of motorsport including F1, Le Mans, WEC, Formula E, WRC, Indycar, IMSA and others.

Dan has also worked for a host of prestigious clients like Porsche, McLaren, Andretti and BMW.

Dan is a phenomenal motorsports photographer with a wealth of experience and you will be in fantastic hands throughout this weekend.

British GT - What’s On Track:

  • British GT is one of the UK’s most exhilarating car racing series, with race-prepared supercars battling in races lasting at least an hour. With multiple classes, plenty of pit stops, along with driver changes, the British GT is one of the most intense and thrilling championships in the UK.

The British GT Championship features a mix of GT3 and GT4 cars, with professional and amateur drivers competing in multi-class racing. Cars from manufacturers such as Aston Martin, McLaren, BMW and others.

  • GB3 is the UK's leading single-seater championship and a proving ground for youngsters aiming to make an impression en-route to F1 stardom. Past graduates of the championship include British Grand Prix superstars Lando Norris and George Russell.

In August 2021 the series was renamed as GB3 Championship (formerly British F3). Shortly after the re-brand, the series announced a new car would be used for 2022, the Tatuus MSV-022, with performance and safety upgrades including the addition of the halo. The new car has proven to be around two to three seconds a lap quicker than its predecessor.

  • The GB4 Championship is an entry-level junior single-seater category that acts as a direct feeder to the GB3 Championship. GB4 has been created to offer drivers graduating from karting or club racing a significantly lower cost route onto the single-seater ladder.

The GB4 Championship uses the Tatuus F4-T014 car previously used by the Italian, ADAC, Spanish and other F4 championships across Europe.

  • The Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT Championship is a UK-based racing series featuring Ginetta sports cars. The championship is part of the British GT package and serves as a stepping stone for drivers aspiring to climb the Motorsport ladder.

Ginetta is a British manufacturer of racing cars, and the GT Championship provides a platform for amateur and aspiring professional drivers to compete in a variety of Ginetta models.

  • A series for young chargers aged 14 to 17 to hone their driving style. Former competitors have graduated to GT racing, GB3 and other Motorsport series.

The Michelin Ginetta Junior Championship is a British racing series that features young drivers competing in Ginetta cars. The championship serves as a stepping stone for young talent in Motorsports, providing them with a platform to develop their skills and progress through the ranks and make a name for themselves in the GT paddock.

  • The Ginetta GT Academy is a unique racing series, providing the driver a high performance, yet safe and reliable race car to enjoy entry level GT racing.

Drivers race on some of the best circuits in the UK, competing against identical cars on the grid in rookie and experienced classes.

Only launched in 2021, the GT Academy Championship has gone from strength to strength, offering some of the UK’s best entry level racing opportunities.
