Join us on our Snowdonia (Eryri) Autumn Photography Tour in 2024
Are you interested in being guided around some of the very best photography spots in Snowdonia (Eryri)? How about some hidden gems too?
Next year (2024) will see the launch of our first photography tours with one weekend tour and two 5 day adventures. We are super excited to have launched these tours to market and can’t wait to welcome everyone who has already booked onto our sold out Anglesey Photography Weekend with Gareth Mon next April.
But…you don’t need to worry, because if you missed out on that one, we have two other incredible tours on offer next year including our Snowdonia (Eryri) Autumn Photography Adventure in October, 2024. This photography tour is led by Helen Iles, a fantastic local photographer born and bred in Snowdonia. Helen’s knowledge of Snowdonia (Eryri), from the photography to the local tales and history is second to none and we are delighted to be working with Helen on this tour. Helen will also be leading our Snowdonia (Eryri) Winter Photography Weekend in 2025, which will offer a completely different experience, exploring snow covered forests and frozen landscapes.
On our Snowdonia (Eryri) Autumn Photography Tour you can expect to visit a wide range of beautiful locations. These will range from rugged mountain landscapes, to magical forests to sandy beaches. One place that will definitely be on our list is Cwm Idwal, a stunning lake surrounded by a towering rock face. The Idwal Slabs are a famous rock formation and somewhere that Sir Edmund Hillary trained prior to his Everest expedition. The Anglesey Barracks, above the town of Llanberis and on the opposite side of the valley to Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) is another wonderful location that we will visit. This location oozes history from Eryri’s mining days and is an incredible place to explore, with a huge amount of photography compositions on offer. The area has a fascinating industrial landscape that is great for photography. We may also pass through the famous town of Betws-y-Coed, often seen as the capital and centre of the National Park. The town has a rich history and culture, with many traditional Welsh buildings and landmarks. Surrounded by mountains, alpine forests, rivers and waterfalls, this is another fantastic place to get out and about with your camera.
With Helen also being a qualified mountain leader, we are extremely fortunate that this allows us to safely head out and explore some lesser known areas of Snowdonia (Eryri). Places such as Crimpiau, a relatively small peak of just 475m, located at the southern edge of the Carneddau. Crimpiau offers stunning views across to Yr Wyddfa as well as the Ogwen Valley. We can also venture up other mountains such as Moelwyn Mawr, a peak of 770m that boasts even more stunning views across the National Park. We then have further options to explore, such as the well known Glyderau including Castell y Gwynt. We can also visit Llyn Llydaw, a beautiful lake along the Miners Track, a path that goes up Yr Wyddfa.
We will also be utilising Helen’s mountain leader knowledge and experience to teach you some of the basics of mountain safety whilst also introducing you to some essential outdoor skills such as map reading and navigation. This will help you to safely and confidently plan future photography adventures in the hills and mountains of the UK.
With so many stunning locations for us to visit together throughout this week in Snowdonia (Eryri), one thing is for sure, you will certainly need to bring a lot of SD cards with you for this trip!
To add to the photography, we will be staying in a beautiful Country House, graded 5* by Visit Wales, set in beautiful surroundings and in the perfect location for getting out and exploring. We will be providing you with a luxury packed lunch hamper, sourced with local products and we will travel around together in a comfortable minibus. You will also never be far away from a nice warming hot drink wherever we visit. Meals are included at the hotel on 3 nights of the tour and a dinner allowance provided on the 4th night.
We are super excited to be running this photography tour next and can’t wait to welcome you to North Wales. We have 5 places available on this tour, so make sure you don’t miss out by booking early! We are proud to say that we are one of the only photography tour and workshop providers here in the UK that financially protects their customers, so you can book with us knowing you are protected.
We will be exhibiting at The London Photo Video Convention and Trade Show in January 2024 and also The Photography and Video Show in March 2024, so please feel free to come and visit our stand at both of these events for a chat, if you are planning on attending.
So, are you ready to join us on this fantastic photography adventure next Autumn?
